Do you ever feel guilty because you want something bad to happen? Let’s say you have a bad intersection on a stretch of road that has several near misses and you just cannot get anyone to pay attention. Maybe you hope for one really horrific accident so you can say “I told you so” and then finally get something done about it before the problem claims many more lives in smaller, less-publicized ones.
I feel that way now. I have served in harm’s way before, I have Brothers and Sisters who are still in harm’s way right now, and I am hoping for the small regional civil war in Syria to turn into a wildfire so that people will finally get the point.
Before you tell me I am crazy, don’t bother because I feel that way also. I am also watching as cars race by that dangerous Middle Eastern intersection and I cringe each time they have a near miss because they cannot see what the reality of the situation is.
The President finally has a plan and the first thing that happens is the Republicans are not sure if it is enough, but they are pretty sure it will derail the Sequester-induced budget issues and will cause a probable halt to their campaigning. Because without a budget resolution, the government runs out of money on 30 Sep 14.
…and here we go again. Whether or not some member of the House or Senate gets elected is irrelevant to the threat that the Islamic State imposes to the United States. That’s right, “Islamic State,” not ISIS or ISIL. If the President does not want to give the IS credit for the name they claim. I will. Why? Because ISIL, which the President insists on calling them, is not a particularly bothersome threat. But the Islamic State is a life-threatening one. This is not semantics. Arguing over what kind of poison the snake has is pretty damn useless after it has bitten you.
But the most dangerous problem to the United States of America at this moment is not the IS, it is the idiots we Americans put into office. They are worse than children because they cannot stop their petty bickering long enough to put the needs of this Nation ahead of their own personal agendas and vendettas.
Enough already, the American people need to wake up before the wreck that I see, and hope, is going to happen. Do you dear readers honestly want another attack like 9/11? Because that is the only thing that I see that will wake people up to the absolute failure of our government and put people into office who, even if they are clueless, cannot be as bad for our Nation as the current fools we have allowed into positions of power.
Here is the plan for the next two years of elections; do not put a single Incumbent back into office. Please for the love of our Nation do not allow this travesty of political bickering and petulance to go on.
I cannot believe that any voter of any political party is actually satisfied with the conduct, behavior, truculence, and entitled attitude of any member of Congress, the Senate, or the President. That also includes the Secretaries of the Executive Branch that have been put into office.
I am conservative. I tend to vote Republican. This year, I am voting for whoever was not in office. That is the only way to send an adequate message. Treat our beloved Nation like a business in which you want to see a profit. When you have employees who cannot get along and will not perform as productive members of the team, you get rid of them and hire new ones.
Forget the Red State vs.Blue State mentality. Forget about partisan politics. I am not happy with Republicans or Democrats. Their willful obstruction of policy has cost us our economy, jobs, our military security, and completely and utterly failed to take care of our Veterans to the point that thousands died waiting for the care they were promised that they had already earned.
Now they want a to quickly vote over appropriations to fight an enemy that has a stated goal of our destruction, has murdered thousands, and they want to rush off to make sure they get re-elected.
That is their goal. They want their jobs to go on. Most of them are millionaires already so they don’t need the money. They don’t live paycheck to paycheck like you and I. They want the power, importance, perks, and status that come with being an elected official. They want the title and once they have it that is all they care about keeping. They like telling people what to do because they live like the nobility of old.
We threw off the yoke of nobility once. We need to remind them that we can do it any time we want and the time, ladies and gentlemen, is now.
In a Nation of opulence and self-aggrandizement where we must own the latest fashion, the newest phone, or this year model car, why in the name of rational thought do we keep these old politicians who have proven time and again that they are useless to the governing and guidance of this Nation?
There are a great many of our elected officials who actually meet the criteria to be described as providing ‘aid and comfort’ to our established enemies.
I need you. Your Nation needs you. I don’t want to watch this wreck happen because if it does, I will call all of you out for it.
Vote for the new guy or gal that strikes your fancy.
DO NOT VOTE FOR:
1. Anyone currently in office right now!
a. the individual with the flashiest commercial.
b. the individual who has been in office since your parents were kids.
c. the individual with millions in the bank who tells you they know your financial pain
d. the power broker who won’t return your calls but says “Yes sir!” to unions and big businesses
e. the hypocrite who professes values and then goes right on abusing privileges that you are paying for
Vote for the new. Give the younger generation a chance to fix what the last two generations have broken. They are going to end up having to fix it anyway, why not do the best thing for all of us and let them get a good head start? Don’t we owe it to our children to try and fix what is broken?
If you are reading this, share it. By now most of the candidates have been identified and they are firing up the commercials and getting ready for the final stretch. You vote counts. Make it mean something besides a perfunctory task on a specific day in November. When you vote this year and two years from now, don’t just check the block. Show the establishment that you are tired of them. Put your foot down and demand change.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. It does not say the House and Senate. It says US the People are the guarantors of the Union. It is our responsibly, promise, and duty to ourselves and our children.
Do we have Justice? Do we have a basic standard of living to all citizens? Are we secure in our Posterity? No, no, and no. We have a government that is doing what it wants instead of what we need and elected officials who support their goals instead of our wellbeing. The middle class is slowly falling below the poverty level and the economy is grinding its gears trying to gain some semblance of traction. Our grandchildren will be paying the debt of this generation and unless something changes, they will just be pushing the debt further down which does not leave a lot for those of us approaching our golden years, better be content with pyrite tham gold.
There is no point in keeping the same thing when it has been proven not to work. Take your government back, vote out the old guard and put some fresh faces into office. We have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Take action now, before that terrible accident takes place in the figurative intersection that you and your family are passing through. Prevention is always better and less costly than picking up the pieces.
