What you have experienced and witnessed and carry within you is powerful.
It’s sacred.
It’s human.
It’s what you relive every day, every night. What you can’t forget and what you don’t want to ever forget. It’s not just a story, it’s part of who you are.
It may feel unshareable. And too painful to put into words.
That’s all right. It’s yours and you alone decide if you ever share it or not.
I invite you, though, if you feel that it’s time to share a story, to share one with me.
I’ll post it here on lifeafterwar.org for your brothers and sisters to honor and witness with you.
You don’t have to be a writer or even good at writing. If you want to share, just email me the story or pull one off your FB feed that you’ve shared before and send me that.
I believe that when we witness someone else’s story, we feel less alone in ours.
When we share the stories of war, we honor life.
When we express the stories that shape us, we open space to grow from what we’ve experienced.
If you’d like to share your experience with war, send it to havokjournal@havokmedia.com.
