The Havok Journal is dedicated to empowering and enhancing the capabilities of the men & women in our armed services, Veteran and first responder communities. The mental and physical requirements of our chosen professions require us to work beyond any standard the general-public might accept so that we can be ready to respond and effect change when the time comes.

That’s why we have partnered with Train Heroic to offer their BULLETPROOF and SPECIALIST Training Programs. No matter if you are just getting back into the fitness game, or haven’t missed a workout since high school, we have the programming you need. With almost 2 decades in the field and thousands of case examples under this programming, it is guaranteed to keep you at your best for the community when the calls come in.
The programming itself is progressive and protocol driven. Every movement and workout is scalable and adaptable to meet both your current capabilities or physical needs, as well as set the stage for the future-you when you are ready to accelerate further. It does not matter if you are actively deployed, on shift or off, or retired and trying to find your path again, neither your training nor your body will miss a beat following these programs.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: BULLETPROOF
BULLETPROOF is designed specifically to do just that…bulletproof your body.
Active duty military, Police, Fire, Medical and Veterans know firsthand the tolls the job itself takes on your entire body. The BULLETPROOF program is designed to make your body resistant to those tolls.
All major movements and physiological systems are accounted for and enhanced in this program. Utilizing GPP and HRV training as jumping off points, if you are looking for the final solution to increase your strength, mobility and cardiorespiratory fitness this is it.
Each day builds on the previous and is meant to enhance the next. The programming is progressive throughout the year, so while you will never do the same workout twice, you will build a familiarity/competency/expertise in the program so you are continuously improving and never getting bored.
These workouts are scalable to your needs, designed to take no more than one-hour, so there is no reason you cannot get after it on-shift, off-shift or anywhere in between.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: SPECIALIST
You are highly skilled in your field. You are a master of your craft. You have more experience in the gym, on the streets and in the trenches than 90% of your community. You are, by definition, a SPECIALIST.
You have bulletproofed your body through years of disciplined training, learning and achieving a mastery of the primary movements of fitness you will need in this program to turn your axe into a scalpel.
PD, Fire, Military and Medical teams ALL have specialty units designed for those who strive for a little more every shift…to dig just a little bit deeper during a response…to achieve that 1% greater insight because you know you can.
Every major compound movement and neurophysiological system will be enhanced with this program. It is specifically intended for those who are deeply familiar with Olympic, barbell, kettlebell and dumbbell lifts. There is a general expectation you have more than basic competency in the fundamentals of lifting, running, ergs and metabolic conditioning in general.
The program is built to be year-round moving through various strength, power and metabolic conditioning phases every 40-60 days. You will become familiar with energy systems and how you respond to stimulus, what your HR is really telling you is possible and more. Although the workouts are never the same, you will learn how to strategize more effectively for the workload demanded of you.
The SPECIALIST program is scalable and movements are modifiable, so while you may or may not be operating “by the book” of what is written…you can guarantee you will have the same shared experiences of struggle and success as the others who choose this difficult path along with you.
