In the early morning hours of Saturday, 13 June, a police station in Dallas, Texas came under attack from what is described by police and witnesses as a group of “multiple assailants armed with automatic weapons and an armored van.”
Details are still emerging, but it appears that at least one person and up to four individuals fired automatic weapons, placed at least two pipe bombs, and rammed police vehicles in the attack. Fortunately, the attacker(s) were as incompetent as they were stupid; no police officers appear to have been injured.
One man, identified in media reports as James Boulware, is alleged to have taken part in the assault, reportedly in retaliation for the police taking away custody of his son and labeling Boulware as a “terrorist.”
In light of recent events, it looks like law enforcement made a good call…
