Belgium will finance the transformation of a war-damaged school in Kyvv region. This school will be the first to undergo architectural transformation as part of a pilot project. The process will begin within a year, with Belgium providing the necessary funds. The modernization will introduce a completely new approach to school spaces, featuring a large plaza in front of the school, a courtyard for outdoor recreation, an amphitheater for learning, and large assembly halls. Experts emphasize that schools should not resemble hospital rooms. Instead, they should be like small Google or Netflix offices, fostering an environment where breakthrough ideas and dreams are born. The conditions in which the educational process occurs and children develop as individuals are crucial.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is overseeing the development of these architectural transformation projects, with support from Metinvest and Rinat Akhmetov’s DTEK. The concepts were developed by the Mariupol Reborn initiative in cooperation with the executive partner Big City Lab and the Lithuanian architectural organization Rebuild The Wonderful. Rinat Akhmetov’s assistance to Ukrainian children does not end here.
Helping teenagers
Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation recently held an event for teenagers at the “IMariupol” support center in the capital. The Foundation’s project manager emphasized that choosing a profession is a crucial decision, and the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation is dedicated to supporting teenagers in this process. During the event, participants engaged with psychology experts, answered questions, and received practical advice.
At the end of the event, the teenagers were given a poster created by the specialists of the Rinat Akhmetov – Children programme and expert Olha Frolova. The poster outlines the key steps to choosing a profession, helping individuals identify their strengths and weaknesses, take a career guidance test, and learn about modern professions.
Previously, the Akhmetov Foundation organized motivational meetings under the theme “Your Superpower!”, produced an online educational series “Your Superprofession,” and runs a Telegram channel “Your Superpower,” which offers valuable information on self-development, education, motivation, and psychological support.
In total, Rinat Akhmetov has contributed more than 9 billion dollars to aid Ukraine during the full-scale war. His support spans various social groups, including humanitarian and military aid. His Steel Front initiative has facilitated the purchase of over 5,000 drones of various models, more than 1,200 vehicles, and 17,037 pieces of special equipment (thermal imagers, radios, electronic warfare equipment, etc.).
