by Bryan “Gannicus” Myers
I took a chance, a deal, a bargain of old.
With a grin, a cigarette, and a cross in the road,
I had a midnight hour, a plan, and a debt to settle.
He found eyes with the blues, and some killer mettle.
It’s not every day you lead astray the Devil
He wasn’t in a bind,
Golden wasn’t the prize,
and there’s no fiddle.
I waited until midnight,
before I began two real lies,
I got in his mind, right in the middle.
You see, he needed some souls,
And mine was feeling a bit cold
From years spent in the killing fields.
So, I figured I’d give it a go.
Who’s to say no?
for I had trick to play in the deal.
I took a chance, a deal, a bargain of old.
With a grin, a cigarette, and a cross in the road,
I had a midnight hour, a plan, and a debt to settle.
He found eyes with the blues, and some killer fucking mettle.
It’s not every day you lead astray the Devil
It didn’t happen in Georgia and there’s no fucking fiddle.
There was no band of demons, no fire on the mountain, and the prize… the prize wasn’t made of gold
Where lies the crossing of these two roads? With me, right in the fucking middle.
