My heart aches for Her
In the quiet moments of the day
In the lonely hours of the night
In the simple and mundane
In the excitement of new discovery
When our sons are happy
When our sons are sad
In the moments when we should be most close,
My heart aches for Her
In the moments of such pain
When it feels like my heart will break
In the brokenness and sadness
Throughout the vale of these tears
In the crushingness of it all
And in the vacuum of despair,
My heart aches for Her
Across the vast sea of time
Within the depths of the darkest space
As deep as the deepest of oceans
As bright as fire’s tempest
As fierce as the wind’s cry
As quiet as the stars’ whisper
As lonely as a mountain meadow
My heart aches for Her
Until the last star burns away
For as long as East and West shall never meet
Until twilight steals the final glimmers of sun
And spring sings its gallant promises no more
Until the embers have smoldered away
And the tide tempts the shore no more
Until the end,
My heart will ache for Her
