I know it is hard being strong all the time.
For many, there is no rest. There is no stopping when tired. You dust off and find the reserves that are there, then burn through those too.
Physically tired, mentally tired, countless battles lost. People around you angry, disappointed, or blaming you for things you didn’t do and were never within your control.
Their words and hate bounce off you, if you’re lucky. But sometimes they slip through the protective armor.
Once the armour is damaged, the subsequent strikes and blows become exponentially worse and worse.
And still you get up, or even crawl out the door to go do the things that need to be done that no one else wants to do, or even admit need to be done.
You do it because you know that there is incredible honor to be found in doing the right thing, even when the things you have to do are unspeakable, yet necessary.
You are not alone.
You are valued and appreciated.
I hope you have or find rest, peace, and a truly safe place to set your armour down for a while.
I hope that instead of being strong, you are allowed to just… be.
Thank you.
