With so many services, each service competes to stay relevant. Hulu being a new and fast-emerging streaming service becomes your favorite subscription with these 5 tips.
Hulu is one such streaming service that offers its viewers a variety of content, including current episodes and seasons of network TV shows, movies, and original series.
Since Hulu is not yet available in all countries, you can easily get Hulu in Australia and other countries using a VPN. With its help, you can change your IP address and access all the blocked content anywhere.
If you’re a Hulu subscriber, the service has a lot to offer. But, between its huge library of TV shows and movies and its rotating selection of live and on-demand channels, it also has a lot of interesting options you need to explore.
That’s where we come in. Here are five fantastic tips to get the most from your Hulu subscription.
Use Your Phone as a Remote
It sucks when you’re all comfortable on your bed or couch with your snacks lined up to watch your show or movie, and you can’t find the remote. So it’s time to get up, ruin your comfort, and access the remote.
Instead of getting up and moving around, wouldn’t it be nice if you could use your phone as a remote control? Now that you’re curious if that’s possible, you can try it out yourself by following these steps:
- First, open the Hulu app on your phone or tablet.
- Next, click on the three lines on the top left corner of the screen.
- From there, select “Settings,” and Under “Settings,” select “Remote Control.”
- Finally, turn on “Enable Remote Control.”
Now you can use your phone as a remote control for Hulu!
Take a Break From the Subscription
You can also pause your subscription on Hulu if you need to for a short period. For example, maybe you’re going on vacation and won’t be able to watch any TV, or perhaps you need a break from all the new episodes of your favorite show and focus on a pressing project.
Whatever the reason, it’s easy to pause your Hulu subscription so you can come back to it later. You can start by navigating to your account page and looking for the subscription column.
Then, choose how long you would like to stop Hulu by clicking Pause on the ‘Pause Your Subscription bar.’
You will not be billed throughout this time, but keep in mind that the pause will resume from the first day of your upcoming billing cycle.
Unless you manually restart your subscription, your account will revive for it when your pause officially ends. That will be your new billing date.
Set Parental Controls via the Hulu Kids Lock
One way to protect your children from inappropriate content on Hulu is to use the Hulu Kids Lock. The Hulu Kids Lock is a setting that you can enable on your account that filters out mature content from shows and movies.
It’s perfect for families with children who want to ensure they are only watching appropriate content.
In addition, it lets you optimize the use of your subscription by not having to worry about what your kids are watching from the vast library all the time. It’s simple to enable Kids Lock:
- First, open the Hulu mobile app
- Then proceed towards the Kids section.
- Now, enable Lock for Kids at the top of the screen. Whereas, to turn it off, tap Unlock at the top of the screen
- When prompted, enter your Hulu password.
- Set an age on the profile, and done.
Hulu will also prevent them from watching R-rated movies, and TV-MA shows if, for instance, they’re 17 or younger.
Personalize the Subtitles
Did you also know that you could customize your subtitles on Hulu? It’s true! You can change your subtitles’ color, size, and font to make them more visible and easier to read. It is a great way to ensure that you get the most out of your Hulu subscription.
To customize your subtitles on Hulu, open up the Subtitle menu. You can choose from a variety of colors, sizes, and fonts to make your subtitles look the way you want them to. You can also adjust the subtitle speed and alignment.
But remember that this process would only work on devices compatible with the most recent version of Hulu. Meanwhile, if you’re streaming from a web page, you can change the font settings of the subtitles following these steps.
- Click the gear icon while a video is playing.
- Select Subtitles
- Tap Settings within the subtitles menu to open a box with font type, color, size, and opacity options.
- After you’ve made your selections, click Done.
Now that you have your subtitles to your liking, you can continue binging!
Change Channels in the Lineup
There are a few ways to add and remove channels from your Hulu lineup to elevate your experience while streaming on Hulu. You can remove or add them on the web, your phone or tablet, or your TV.
This tip is specifically for Hulu basic and live TV subscribers. Remember how you chose your favorite channels when you first created your Hulu profile? That, however, does not have to remain the same forever.
If you want to add a network to your viewing lineup, you must first save your desired networks in Hulu’s “My Stuff” tab. To do that, follow the following steps:
Locate the TV tab on the main screen and scroll down to the “All TV Networks” row. Then, select the channel that seems to have a steady stream of content that you want to stream.
For example, if you enjoy NBC shows, tap the icon, and then in the upper right corner, tap “Add to My Stuff.” NBC content will now appear in your Hulu homepage rotation. For other preferred networks and channels, repeat the same process.
To Sum Up
Hulu is a great streaming service, but it can be even better if you use these tips to get the best from your subscription. These helpful tips will make your streaming and viewing experience the best part of the day.
