Nay, this better to list things given up.

Perhaps reframed: Where is this new You from,

able to bear loads while filling your cup?

Yes, you are new and true, forged and seasoned,

expanding, exploring, evolving. There,

more learning to be done. Growth – well reasoned

each year, each decade brings some things renewed.

As in each harvest more chaff falls away

Pruned, excised, cut out like malignant mass.

Shining golden wheat remains; here to stay

to be transformed and digested. Alas,

step out away from past selves and be seen

for the greatest, real self lies in between.
