My Military Dad Does Things a Little Differently: A Different Kind Of Veteran’s Book
by Scott Faith
You know him from the movie Range 15, his upcoming work in the new TV series The Mayans, from his thoughtful and introspective blog posts, and all of those Article 15 videos. And of course you know he operates.
But did you know that highly-functional veteran and former Army Ranger Vince “Rocco” Vargas is also an author?
He’s not just any author, either. He writes… wait for it… children’s books.
And not just an children’s books, but books with a message. Like many veterans, Vince Vargas is a family man, and his first illustrated book, My Military Dad Does Things a Little Different, is written for the military family. Readable even by beginners, it’s a book meant for military parents and their children to experience together. It addresses issues such as why Daddy has to go far away, and nuances of life as a military kid, including Dad’s ability to do pushups, to down prodigious amounts of food, and to master the 24-hour clock. It’s definitely worth a read… for Military Dads and Military Kids.
