For some inexplicable reason, the power suddenly went out at the hospital (!) and Russian doctors were unable to take samples that would have allowed the Americans to determine what kind of drug was used on their diplomats.
Cutting off power in an entire hospital full of sick and injured people in order to cover up spy shenanigans against the US? Way to commit to the cover-up, Russia.
For their part, the Russians insist they had nothing to do with the drugging… or the power loss at the hospital… or the hacking incidents, or interference with US elections.
Drugged diplomats. Political shenanigans. Shady cyber moves. Provocative military maneuvers. Fake sex tapes. Russia is back, big time. It’s making me all Cold War nostalgic. It’s a bit like an old James Bond movie, maybe we’d call this one “From Russia With Drug.”
With all the obfuscation going on over on the Russian side right now, one thing is clear: whoever wins the upcoming election, he or she will have to deal with a resurgent, confident, and aggressive Russia. I hope we’re all ready.
